2021 Reunion An Overwhelming Success

Everyone, All I can say is the folks that attended the reunion in Pensacola had a great time. The weekend was wonderful including the two Blue Angel Air Shows we were able to see from our hospitality suite balcony. NAS was closed for the air show and the Blues flew their show on the beach, incidentally the Blue Angels 75th Anniversary party was in an adjoining suite and our shared balcony was center stage. Absolutely awesome! Since returning home many accolades about the event have been received. It was an absolute success. My personal thanks go out to some very key people that worked together as a team to ensure it ran smoothly: Jim Russel, our man on the ground […]

Easter Message from the President

Shipmates, Members and Friends of Naval Photography, As we enter the Easter and Passover holidays, I would like to take time to wish everyone peace during this very blessed Holy season. It looks like we are getting past this Covid nightmare. By the time the reunion rolls around I expect everyone should have had all of their shots and hopefully ready to travel. As everyone knows this is the 100th year of the Navy Photographer. Time to celebrate this notable milestone and our service to the US NAVY! 100 years of our work, some of which I imagine will be on display. We are fortunate to have Jim Russell’s boots on the ground in Pensacola, he has outdone himself by scoring another […]

2020 Reunion Replaced With 2021 Reunion

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 debacle and the slow rollout of the vaccine, the NANP Board of Directors have voted to cancel the 2020 Navy Photographer’s Reunion, which had been postponed to April 2021. Going forward, we are planning a 2021 Navy Photographer’s Reunion, November 5th – 7th at the Holiday Inn Resort on Pensacola Beach, Florida. This is the same location and venue we had planned to use for the 2020 Reunion. And as previously planned, our reunion will coincide with the Blue Angels Homecoming. The Board of Directors felt this course of action would allow ample time for the majority of our community to receive their vaccines, thereby increasing reunion attendance. A new 2021 Reunion page will […]

2020 Navy Photographer’s Reunion Postponed

Due to the current COVID-19 threat, the NANP Board of Directors has decided to postpone the 2020 Navy Photographer’s Reunion, previously scheduled for October 16 – 18, to the spring of 2021. The new dates for the Navy Photographer’s Reunion are April 23 – 25, 2021 and will be held in Pensacola, Florida as previously planned. The Board felt it prudent to make this move as the COVID-19 numbers are ever increasing and governments continue to restrict social gatherings. We are also very concerned about the health and well-being of our PH and MC community. Lastly, we received word that the Blue Angels have shut down their season for the year and the Homecoming Air Show is in question. We […]

Dates Set for 2020 Navy Photography Reunion

Our President, Sammy Solt, reports that the dates for the 2020 Photography Reunion in Pensacola are set. We will be having the reunion October 16-18 with a departure the morning of the 19th. These date coincides with the Blue Angels Homecoming this year. I believe we will have an invitation to view a dress rehearsal performance of the airshow from the flightline. A contract for the venue has not been signed yet, but all indications point to the reunion taking place on Pensacola Beach. The projected cost of hotel rooms is around $159 a night. As soon as I have more information about the venue and scheduled events, I will put together the official web page listing all details and […]

Pensacola Selected for 2020 Navy Photography Reunion

Thank you to all who voted for the 2020 Reunion location. The number of responses was a lot more than expected. BZ to everyone who participated. By an overwhelming majority, Pensacola landed at the top of the list followed by Charleston and a split between Norfolk and a cruise. We do not have specific dates yet, but are looking at sometime around the middle of October. Jim Russell stepped up to the plate and volunteered to be the coordinator. He is well underway in collecting information on all venues in and around Pensacola. More information will be shared when it becomes available.
