Our President, Sammy Solt, reports that the dates for the 2020 Photography Reunion in Pensacola are set. We will be having the reunion October 16-18 with a departure the morning of the 19th.

These date coincides with the Blue Angels Homecoming this year. I believe we will have an invitation to view a dress rehearsal performance of the airshow from the flightline.

A contract for the venue has not been signed yet, but all indications point to the reunion taking place on Pensacola Beach. The projected cost of hotel rooms is around $159 a night.

As soon as I have more information about the venue and scheduled events, I will put together the official web page listing all details and costs.

    1. We don’t have specifics on events yet, but I do know a tour of Bldg. 1500 is one of the top priorities. We will have to arrange for special access on a Saturday or Sunday. It will probably be an escorted visit up to the Periscope Room where we maintain a small Navy Photography museum. As far as the rest of the building goes, I’m not sure. It’s base headquarters now.

      1. Wes: I’m interested in the airshow on the 15th, what does “invitation only” mean. Will we not be able to go on base to view it or what?

        1. Glen…the main air show which is open to the public will be the 16th and 17th. There is a Blue Angel practice on Thursday the 15th. MCC Dan Mennuto is organizing a special viewing for any of us in the area on that day. I believe it will be on the flight line right at the Blue Angel hanger. If you are interested in attending, you will need to contact Dan via email or Facebook and ask him to add you to the invite list.

  1. I am interested in attending please keep me informed. Attended A school and mopic C school. Assigned to Pacific Fleet Combat Camera Group after A school.

  2. I am so excited to be able to attend this reunion. Thanks for posting the date well in advance. Hope to see shipmates I served with at the Naval Photographic Center at Anacostia….decades ago!!!! I also attended “A” and “C” school in Pensacola. Was the staff photographer for the base newspaper at Alameda, CA. Wound up serving for 42 years (mostly reserve) and retired in 2009.

  3. Interested in attending. Called Holiday Inn Resort Pensacola Beach, 14 Via De Luna Drive, Pensacola Beach, FL 32561, Phone: 850-932-5331 to make a room reservation. They were not aware of the 2020 Navy Photographer’s Reunion event or how to apply the discount, “TAD”. I will try back again in the next week. Could someone please provide a contact name to assist in making the reservations at the hotel?
