NANP President Remembers USS Forrestal Fire 53 Years Ago Today
All, 53 years ago today I was aboard the USS FORRESTAL on Yankee Station in the Tonkin Gulf. At 1051 a horrific fire engulfed the flight deck killing 134 of my Shipmates and injuring many more. Of course many years have passed and many more heroes of that fateful day have died. I would ask that anyone reading this to please take a moment to remember the souls of our departed Shipmates. New Director (Active Duty Liaison)
Please welcome our newest member of the NANP Board of Directors, LT Michelle Tucker, USN. She was overwhelmingly approved by the BOD and comes to us with quite an impressive bio. Her present position is PAO for Chief of Naval Air Training at NAS Corpus Christi. Speaking on behalf of the entire Board of Directors we would like to wish her a hearty “Welcome Aboard.”
2020 Navy Photographer’s Reunion Postponed
Due to the current COVID-19 threat, the NANP Board of Directors has decided to postpone the 2020 Navy Photographer’s Reunion, previously scheduled for October 16 – 18, to the spring of 2021. The new dates for the Navy Photographer’s Reunion are April 23 – 25, 2021 and will be held in Pensacola, Florida as previously planned. The Board felt it prudent to make this move as the COVID-19 numbers are ever increasing and governments continue to restrict social gatherings. We are also very concerned about the health and well-being of our PH and MC community. It’s time to fill some open NANP positions. Below is the link to an online ballot for a new Secretary and two Directors. We only have one nominated candidate for each position. We request all NANP members vote YES or NO on each position. This election will close midnight, February 28th, 2020.

We have a last minute opening in an upcoming election which will be made public any day now. Sam Trice will remain our Treasurer but has asked for us to turn Secretary over to someone else.
