IN MEMORY OF
Don started his career in 1953 while still in High School by joining the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
After graduating from Fairfax High School in 1956 he joined the Navy and was assigned as a Photographers Mate
to the Sea Bees where he continued to serve until 1966. In 1967 he joined the Army as a helocopter pilot
and served two tours in Viet Nam with the 128th Tomahawks/Gunslingers and 158th Redskins.
Don was shot down on June 1, 1971 in the Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. He was listed as MIA / "KIA, Body Not Recovered"
until his remains were recovered on July 29, 2008 and identified March 10, 2010. Don was laid to rest at Fort Gibson National Cemetery,
Fort Gibson Oklahoma on August 21, 2010 with full Military Honors.
